My Favorites: London

London is one of my absolute favorite places to go! The shopping is incredible, the decor is chic, and believe it or not, there’s so much more amazing food than just fish and chips. People are always asking me where the best places to visit in London are, so of course I had to make a list for everyone. Below is just a snapshot of where I love to visit and where we love to eat.

WHERE TO EAT

Of course, I couldn’t start recommending places to go without starting with my favorite thing - food! Here’s just a smattering of places that are so damn good!

Rovi

Yotam Ottolenghi is a huge inspiration of mine. His food is absolutely delicious and stunningly beautiful. Dil and I love Rovi. Yotam’s use of vegetable is so crazy innovative that you’d never miss the meat when you eat here.

Dil and I stumbled upon this cute neighborhood find. The menu constantly changes and are handwritten each day to reflect those changes. If you’re looking for something off the beaten path, this is a great place to stumble into!

Rising Sun Pub

This is a no frills, quintessential English pub. When I tell you that I sit in NYC and crave their fish and chips, I’m not lying. Here you won’t get fancy 5-star food but you’ll get the best fish and chips and pies you can find!

This is an amazing spot to go for a long cocktailing session. It has an incredible view of the city, but I can’t talk too much about the food - last time we went it was cocktails only and that was perfectly fine for me!

This is a hard spot to get into, but if you can snag a table you won’t be disappointed!

The Ivy Marlow

The Ivy in Marlow is the perfect place for lunch or dinner after a bunch of shopping in Marlow. Located right on the Main street, you can pop in for cocktails and snacks or a delicious meal. If you do want to go for dinner, I’d suggest getting a reservation as it’s a really popular place to go.

must visit Places

CARNABY STREET

Carnaby Street is a must stop when visiting London. Right in the heart of Soho, you’ll find this famous street lined with great shopping and eateries!

MARLOW

Marlow is a small village East of London. There’s a small downtown area with fabulous shopping and the architecture is quintessential England.

Windsor

A must visit! The Windsor Castle is one of the best places I’ve ever visited. The history and charm is like no other. When you’ve had enough royal history you’ll find great shopping right outside the castle gates.

The Langley Hotel

After a long day of shopping in Windsor you may just want a fabulous dinner. The Langley is a majestic English estate that I just can't get enough of. Being there is like stepping back in time and I can almost picture myself as the Lady of the Manor!

Hotel Cafe Royal

If you are looking for a great place for a classic high tea - this is the place to go! The sandwiches and sweets go great with any tea, and even better with a glass of bubbly!

Charlotte Street Hotel

The Charlotte Street hotel is our absolute favorite place to stay in London. All of Kit Kemp’s Firmdale hotels are impeccably designed, but there’s something about Charlotte Street that has our heart. If you’re looking for a 5 star experience, Charlotte Street is the perfect place to go!

Shopping

Borough Market

One of the best places to find freshly cooked food and other interesting buys. This is perfect for a stroll on a sunny day!

Liberty London

Talk about shopping heaven! Liberty of London is the best place to go. Dil and I always bring an extra suitcase just to fill it up with our purchases from Liberty. If you step into our house you’ll find more nicknacks from Liberty than from anywhere else.

India Jane

Another great place to go for interesting home decor. I love their use of prints and patterns on everything from trays and photo frames to couches and pillows. They don’t ship to the US so if you do find something you love, be sure to have enough room to bring it home in your luggage.

The White Company

Of course you can get The White Company products in the US, but there’s something so perfect about purchasing their goods in England. I love their home scents. My particular favorite is Fresh Grapefruit - the crisp, clean citrus scent makes any room smell amazing!

Fortnum & Mason

Talk about food haven! If you’re a tea and biscuits fan, Fortnum & Mason is the place to go. I’m obsessed with the design of their products. We love to buy tins of cookies just to keep the tins as decor in our apartment, and if you’re looking for a great gift to give someone this is the place to find it!
