Makes 6 drinks

  • 1 1/4 cup silver tequila, I prefer Casamigos

  • 3/4 cup orange liqueur such as Grande Marnier

  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • Ice

  • Chili Lime Salt, recipe follows

  • Lime wedge for garnish

Make the Margarita Base:

Combine the tequila, orange liqueur, orange and lemon juices in a large pitcher. Place in the refrigerator and chill until you’re ready to make the cocktails.

Chili Lime Salt:

  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt

  • 2 teaspoon chili powder

  • 2 teaspoon lime zest

  • 2 tablespoon lime juice

Salt the Glasses:

Mix together the salt, chili powder and lime zest on a flat plate. In a wide bowl, add the lime juice. Dip the rim of the glass into the lime juice then into the salt mixture. Set aside until you’re ready to assemble your cocktail.

Make the Cocktail:

Fill a large cocktail shaker with ice and fill about 3/4 of the way with the margarita base. Shake for 30 seconds until extremely cold. Add ice to the salted cocktail glasses then strain the margaritas into the glasses. Repeat to fill the rest of the margaritas. Add a lime wedge to each rim and serve immediately.
