Fall in Love with Your Home Decor

Finally!!

As August fades and autumn approaches, I can't help but get excited. Sure, summer might officially last until September 22nd, but let’s be real—once Labor Day passes, it’s full-on fall mode for me! This is hands down my favorite time of year. The cooking gets cozier, the decor aligns perfectly with my style, and don’t even get me started on Halloween—absolute bliss! But before I dive too deep into the season, I wanted to share some fun fall decor ideas to help you embrace the autumnal spirit.

Too often, I see people stuck in a decor rut—they set up their homes one way when they first move in and never touch it again. It’s like deciding to eat mashed peas and carrots for the rest of your life just because you had them as a baby—no, thanks! We grow, our tastes evolve, and our homes should evolve with us. Maybe one year you’re all about purple, and the next, it’s tiger print that steals your heart. Who cares? Your home should reflect who you are and what you love, right now. And this is the perfect time to make that change.

As you pack away your summer decor, think of it as an opportunity to refresh your space. Rearrange the furniture, swap out those tired pillowcases for something vibrant and new, update your wall art and family photos—or at least give them a fresh frame. Even your everyday kitchenware can use a seasonal update! Stores like Crate and Barrel offer great, budget-friendly options to add a bit of flair and help you break out of any design rut you might be in.

Seasonal changes give us the chance to shift our mindset, adjust our routines, and even refresh our wardrobes—so why not do the same for our homes? I hope you find some inspiration in the ideas below!

Happy September!!

pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins!

You can’t truly embrace the change of seasons without incorporating pumpkins! While I may not be the biggest fan of pumpkin spice, I do love using pumpkins to accent our home. The common mistake I see with pumpkin decor is people choosing bright orange ones that clash with their existing decor. Instead, I prefer neutral-toned pumpkins that blend seamlessly with the rest of the space, creating a cohesive and beautiful autumnal atmosphere. Here are a few options that embody this idea—elegant, yet still eye-catching!

think outside the pumpkin

Now that we’ve covered the pumpkin craze, I encourage you to think beyond pumpkins for your fall decor. There are so many other fantastic elements that can elevate your autumnal designs, yet they’re often overlooked. Check out a few of my favorites below!

bring nature inside

As a New England native, nothing screams fall for me more than the vibrant transformation of the trees, as their bright greens shift to deep reds and oranges. I love bringing those rich autumnal colors into our home decor, complemented by adding natural textures. Here are some of my favorite pieces that do just that!

a few more thoughts

When I decorate, I always consider how shapes, textures, colors, and patterns will interact. I love layering simple pieces with more striking ones. Take the green and amber candle holders above, for example. Their dynamic shapes and colors make them stand out on their own, but when you incorporate them into a dinner table setting with the plates, bowls, and votive holders shown above, you create a stunning table that enhances the candles' impact even further.

My best advice: Experiment with the items you already have and mix in new pieces. Play around, mix and match, and create something uniquely yours. There’s no wrong way to do it—it's your home, and if it brings you joy, that's all that matters!
