Take the Stage!
I often hear from people who feel their apartment isn't worth decorating because they're in a transitional period or they’re waiting until they own a space before investing in the design. If that sounds like you, or you know someone who feels this way, then this newsletter is for you!
In previous newsletters, I’ve shared apartments designed for clients settling into a new home they plan to stay in long-term. Recently, however, I’ve been working with real estate agents to stage apartments for short-term appeal, aiming to enhance a property’s marketability and attract potential buyers. When designing these transitional spaces, I focus on three key factors—the "Three B’s": broad appeal, beauty, and budget.
Staging for sale means considering how each potential buyer will view the space. I aim to strike the right balance between bold and neutral, creating a setting that’s inviting and functional. It’s crucial to show a flexible layout, offering different ways to arrange the space, as not everyone will envision it the same way. And of course, to protect the seller’s investment, we keep the budget reasonable to avoid unnecessary costs that could impact the sale price.
Below, I’ve shared a recent staging project for an apartment in Brooklyn. In just three days, I transformed it from a blank canvas into a fully designed home. You’ll see how each room was thoughtfully arranged for its best use, and for anyone hesitant to invest in a temporary space, remember: there’s nothing like coming back to a beautiful home, whether it's for one month or one year!
